How does it work?
Acupuncture helps by addressing any existing disharmony in a woman's body and her monthly cycle.  It can increase blood flow to the endometrium, helping to facilitate a thick, rich lining.

When is the right time to start acupuncture treatment if I plan to have I.V.F.?
It is commonly recommended that women begin acupuncture 3 - 4 months prior to IVF procedures being started. It is also highly recommended that you have an acupuncture treatment within 24 hours before and after the embryo transfer.

How often do I need to have treatment?
Weekly acupuncture treatments are encouraged for 3-4 menstrual cycles, before undergoing IVF, but if you don't have that much time, don't worry, it can still be an effective supportive therapy just before and after IVF, unfortunately, your body just doesn't get as much prep time....

When should I stop getting treatment?
Most miscarriages happen in the first trimester; if a woman is at high risk for miscarriage or repeated pregnancy loss, it is important to continue treatment until week 12 to help in prevention.

Can acupuncture treat morning/pregnancy sickness?
Absolutely! It is an extremely quick and effective (drug-free) way to stop the nausea and vomiting that many women experience during the first trimester of pregnancy.
